Am 23.07.2016 trafen wir uns bei strahlendem Sonnenschein zum Plein Air Malen im Eisenbahmmuseum in Strasshof. Auf 150.000m² Fläche sind rund 80 Lokomotiven (einige davon voll einsatzfähig) und über 180 Waggons ausgestellt. Auch das komplette Ambiente um die ausgestellten Stücke ist im Original erhalten geblieben, darunter der hölzerne Wasserturm, die Kohlenaufzüge und Wasserkräne, die zum Teil renoviert und zum Betrieb der Lokomotiven zur Verfügung stehen. Die Drehscheibe mit 23 m Durchmesser wurde nur zum Wenden der großen Dampflokomotiven konzipiert und verfügte ursprünglich nur über einen einzigen Gleisanschluss. Es ist schon beeindruckend wenn man vor diesen großen „Riesen“ steht. Die Räder sind teilweise über 2m hoch.
On 23rd of July 2016 we met for Plein Air painting in the “Eisenbahmmuseum” in Strasshof . We had beautiful weather. On the 150,000m² area there are about 80 locomotives (some fully operational ) and more than 180 wagons exhibited . Also the whole atmosphere around the exhibited pieces has been preserved in the original, including the wooden water tower , the carbon elevators and water spouts , which are partly renovated and the operation of the locomotives available . The hub with diameter of 23 meters has been designed just for turning the large steam locomotives and originally had only a single track connection . It is impressive when you stand before this great “ giants “ . The wheels are partly high about 2m . Each watercolor turned out great and we all had a very kreative day.
